The most productive salmon fishing months in Kyuquot Sound on Vancouver Island are from June through September, with the height of the season in July and August. Chinook salmon (Kings), Coho salmon (Silvers), Sockeye and Chum are plentiful in these cold, clear waters. We are currently taking bookings for 2008 salmon fishing charters. See RATES below.
BC halibut fishing season in Kyuquot Sound is all year round but in our experience the best months for halibut fishing in this part of British Columbia is late April through July, that's when the monster halibut are most common. You can certainly catch enough halibut to feed a few dozen of your closest friends a tasty meal of fish and chips any time of the year.
The Boat
Our sport fishing boat is a 22' covered cruiser. Our fishing charter guests find our cruiser very comfortable both for the short trip to the fishing hot spots - which are just 5 to 30 minutes from the Lodge, and for the day's fishing.
Each full day of fishing on the water includes a tasty lunch, snacks, beverages and magnificent scenery. Tall fish tales are also included free of charge along with a helping of First Nations stories and history.

Until our new Vancouver Island fishing lodge and hotel is complete in 2008, Voyager Sportfish Charters will arrange fishing charter accommodations in Kyuquot Sound for you and your group - just contact us for details.
Our new saltwater fishing lodge & wilderness hotel will be open year-round starting in the spring of 2008, offering rustic but comfortable accommodation for up to 18 guests in 9 rooms.

Kayak Sport Fishing in British Columbia
Sport fishing just above the water line is a great way to add a twist to your favourite sport. The best time to try kayak fishing is from the middle of July through the end of August. That's when the salmon are in by the rocks, working their way up the river to spawn.
Combine Kayak & Cruiser - You might like to go BC salmon fishing or halibut fishing out of a kayak for one day then fish out of the 22' covered cruiser on another day - the choice is yours!
Safety First! - When salmon fishing from a kayak you will be escorted by a certified kayaking guide who has been paddling these waters for years. You will also be shadowed by a fishing guide in a skiff; they will provide fishing information, an ice cooler for your fish and cater to your needs.
